Elder Gods etc
[edit]The plot summary links the alien presence in the film to specific creatures from the Cthulhu Mythos. Based on what? There's nothing explicit about this in the film is there? — Thecorinthian85 (talk • contribs) 17:44, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- No on-screen character was sufficiently knowledgeable about the cosmic situation humans find themselves in to specifically identify the Colour as one of the Old Gods, but the audience is made aware of the relation in three ways: First, Lavinia has a copy of the Necronomicon. Second, the residents of Arkham warn Ward about visiting the forest. And third, the non-Euclidean geometry seen by Ward in a vision granted him by the Colour. See also: Annihilation. Why?
[edit]On 02:21, 20 April 2020, [User:Koavf] added a See Also link to Annihilation (film), and shortly beforehand added a corresponding link to that page in the other direction.
There's no edit comment explaining why they were linked. Other than both being somewhat unusual recent-ish horror films, I'm not sure what they have to do with each other. Neither article mentions the other one, or says anything else to imply that (much less why) you'd want to look up the other one.
I'm undoing both changes. If there's a good reason to link the pages, it should at least be mentioned here or in edit comments, and ideally it should be obvious from the pages themselves. --157.131.202.156 (talk) 02:39, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- Critics were finding non-existant references in Annihilation and one of them was Lovecraft's story, just because of few similarities. Mithoron (talk) 21:36, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
