Nonhexachordal combinatoriality

[edit]

Anything about it? Hyacinth (talk) 02:34, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

Definitely needs some cleaning up, I might have a go at it if I get a chance. For now, though, I've changed a couple of spelling mistakes and fixed the dead link to "Total Chromaticism" - "aggregate" now redirects to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serialism#Theory_of_serial_music 155.245.109.240 (talk) 13:31, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

How and why do the references need to be improved? Hyacinth (talk) 03:38, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colored outfit analogy

[edit]

I feel a vague memory that this was already discussed at length and rejected on the twelve-tone technique talk page or somewhere. Hyacinth (talk) 12:59, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hexachordal Combinatoriality

[edit]

Hi everyone, There is a problem with the example taken from the Carter Piano Concerto. First of all, there's a rather glaring typo (Fb instead of F). I have confirmed with the score that it's meant to be an F, and with the erroneous Fb the chord does not even form an aggregate (E is doubled enharmonically and F is missing). But even with this resolved, it only presents an example of retrograde combinatoriality. Elsewhere in the section it is pointed out that this retrograde combinatoriality is trivial, but this example is not clearly labeled as such. I think it would be best to take it down completely since its relevance is questionable, but I thought I'd post here first to see if anyone has the editing chops to fix it. --GustavMahler74 (talk) 14:42, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
