Events info is excessive

[edit]

A simple list of the festivals hosted in the Comox Valley is appropriate, but listing the dates, ticket prices, contact information and so forth to the degree that it takes half the article is not! WP:NOT#TRAVEL, WP:NOT#DIRECTORY. Brianhe 19:26, 25 June 2007 (UTC) [Another notice that HMCS Quadra has not been mentioned on the page, save CFB Comox. Find information about HMCS Quadra and we will have it added as a tourist site and/or event in the Valley.] Tazzy33182 (talk) 15:28, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Tazzy33182[reply]

Bang on! Why not go ahead and fix it. Sunray 19:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comox, British Columbia needs the same treatment but my fingers are tired. Brianhe 02:10, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural Capitals?

[edit]

I think that the recent video where 3 white men tried to fight a black man should be mentioned here. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/three-arrested-in-attack-posted-on-youtube/article1210121/

Racism has put Comox back on the map!--Wjserson (talk) 13:34, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Drake at Comox Valley

[edit]

The paragraph about Drake should be pulled or changed to "one discredited idea suggested that Sir Francis Drake visited the area in 1579." Several references can be provided. The accepted sites are Oregon Dunes for Drake's landfall and Drakes Bay for New Albion. The US National Park Service has studied this matter and awarded the Drakes Bay site a National Historic Landmark designation.

Comox Bay has been included in Fringe theories on the location of New Albion MikeVdP (talk) 06:23, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
