Deletion

[edit]

I think this article should be deleted. It's just an abstract from a paper. It offers no general information about the topic of conformal infinity. Could someone familiar with the intricasies of proposing deletion please do so? Andrew Moylan 03:40, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help! Cleanup!

[edit]

A helpful anon, 194.200.201.82, simply pasted in the abstract from an excellent review article by Frauendiener, but didn't bother to say where it came from. If the intent was to encourage experts to destubbify this stub, this rather defeated the purpose. Sheesh!

Fortunately, I recognized the source and have provided the reference. Hopefully this will encourage someone to take the time to boil down these sources into a good article. ---CH [[User_talk:Hillman|(talk)]] 01:57, 21 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Note: this is a quotation which an anonymous editor simply pasted in from the abstract of a fine on-line review article by Frauendiener, cited below. Pasting information from scholarly articles into the Wikipedia is or should be deprecated unless accompanied by a bibliographic reference, and even then, I think Wikipedia readers can and should demand more from Wikipedia editors than what amounts to possibly benevolent plagiarism. Whoever cleans up this mess should keep the references but remove the quotation and also this warning.
