Birthplace

[edit]

What should the article say regarding the birthplace? The source referenced in the relevant sentence says simply "Camlough-born".

The possibilities which I am aware of seem to include:

  1. Camlough -- quoting the source
  2. Newry -- although not named by the source, a larger place nearby that people are more likely to have heard of
  3. Camlough, near Newry -- quoting the source but adding some explanation

I do not agree with option 2 above, but the editor who prefers it has not offered any explanation, so the above is my best guess as to their reasoning. If they wish to speak for themselves, that would obviously be good.

Any views please?

I go for #3. The source clearly says Camlough, which looks very small on the map, and as Newry 3-miles away is the post town and only larger place nearby this seems the best. Rwendland (talk) 16:34, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'll put this unless anyone else speaks up in the next day or two. --Money money tickle parsnip (talk) 01:42, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
