Status of Transnistria
[edit]The political status of Transnistria is normally not mentioned in geography or biography articles dealing with the subject. This is a long standing convention which is not just used on Transnistria article, but, in general, on similar articles Wiki-wide as a rule of thumb. There is a practical consideration to this. If you do not understand why, please feel free to ask and I will explain in more detail. Issues like these are settled on Talk pages; not via revert wars, not by namecalling, and not by characterizing the good faith edits of others as "vandalism". - Mauco 02:13, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- Not all persons who arrive at Corjova article know about Transnistria's status. As long as we can explain this in only few words, it makes sense adding this in the article. You have no right to establish standards in Wikipedia, I never agreed in such a convention you talk about. Who else, except you, agreed?--MariusM 13:54, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I didn't invent this but am merely enforcing a (not always enforced) Wikipedia standard. And it has been explained to you before. If you doubt me, read up on policies and guidelines. We are going in circles. If you want to buck the trend, however, be my guest. You are pushing a derogatory word and making the encyclopedia poorer as a result, but in the end, you are responsible for your own editing record. If I had already made my point twice or three times, then there is not much else I can do so let us just leave it at that. - Mauco 17:37, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- "Breakaway" simply means "secessionist" and it's not a derogative word, it's just a fact. bogdan 18:42, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- We can change it to that, then. But you are still not receptive to the wider point. Perhaps a neutral editor should explain it. Lately, all the Romanians have been ganging up on me and reverting my edits and nixing my suggestions, without concern for whether or not they are actually reasonable and in line with Wikipedia standards. - Mauco 01:34, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
