GA review (see here for criteria)

The article is in very good shape, and I was on the fence whether or not to put the GAN on hold.

  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
The prose is the only issue that really stood out to me. Some sentences could be rewritten to better convey the info for non-gamers. Phrases like "100% completion" don't mean much to them, but "extra accomplishment" or "additional goal" would make more sense. I would paraphrase some of the quotes in the "Reception" section. I suggest finding some one to give the article a quick copy edit; that should address this.
One last comment, I don't think that many review scores are needed. Like Allgame and Nintendo Power's scores are both the same, and GameZone and Game Informer's are almost identical.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
Well-referenced with reliable sources. Though I think the Nintendo Power, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Informer, and Play magazine comments could be attributed to the magazines themselves. Metacritic gives the issues' publication date and page numbers, though not the issue number. You could use "Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure Review" for the title and that'd be enough to fill in {{cite journal}}.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Reception could be a bit longer, but what's there is fine.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
File:Crashadven.png could use a stronger FUR. I'd model it after File:HugeAdventureGameplay.jpg's FUR. Also, it wouldn't hurt to reduce the uploaded size of File:PlanetaryMinimizer.JPG and the cover art image.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
On hold for now. The article is very close to passing, just a little sprucing will push over the finish line. I have this page watchlisted and I'll check back to see if the issues are fixed. (Guyinblack25 talk 04:27, 19 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]
Update- some points have been addressed. The only thing left is some prose tweaking. Keep in mind it doesn't have to be FA-quality writing; I think a light copy edit would fix things. If you have any questions on the details to the issues I noticed, feel free to ask. I'd hate to see an article so close to GA not pass. (Guyinblack25 talk 19:29, 23 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]
Since most of my concerns were fairly minor, I did some copy edits to the article. That coupled with the edits you've already done, the only section I have any issues with is the "Reception" section. I think the comments can be paraphrased and expanded. The reviews actually provide a good amount of commentary of different aspects of the game. I still think the review table should be trimmed. It's not a good sign when the table is longer than the section's prose. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:10, 25 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]
I believe the improvements meet the GA criteria. Congratulations. (Guyinblack25 talk 03:47, 26 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Discussion

Not a review, just a comment - I'm not sure the plot image is necessary. It's just a large flash and Cortex, and it doesn't really improve the reader's comprehension of the game, and if you were to have three images total, there's probably better choices. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Whoops, sorry; my mind's under the influence of cold drugs, and I didn't notice the Earth until adding the statement. Still, the first gameplay image demonstrates the visuals, the character designs, and the gameplay; the latter image only shows a plot scene. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! I understand. I thought the article was kind of bare, and I assumed an article should have at least two images (not counting the box art) to look good, so yeah. If I was required to, I could get rid of it if it's really that unnecessary. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 11:20, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
