Merge proposal
[edit]I'm proposing that List of godfathers be merged here. Most of the articles on that list don't use the term "Godfather" and therefore it is unsourced/not verifiable that these individuals were even called "godfathers". Furthermore, that is a slang, non-encyclopedic term, and most of the individuals are already on this list. However, we may want to consider preserving the subdivision by eras and transfer that to this article.-Andrew c [talk] 13:42, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Unsourced nomenclature
[edit]Greetings, all. The article lists in the opening section's definition of the term "crime boss" various synonyms, such as "crime lord", "Don", "gang lord", "gang boss", "mob boss", "kingpin", "godfather", "crime mentor", and "criminal mastermind". Except for one or two of these terms, the rest are nowhere to be found in the body of the main text nor are they supported by sources, as policy mandates. -The Gnome (talk) 08:58, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
