Salzman's book, by 2017, has become a real paradigm shift. General idea is to document how societies built on familial ties find the Western nation state an irrational, unnatural construct. "If a kitten is born in a stable, does that make the kitten a horse?" I wish I could remember where I read an article about it last year, since we don't do Original Research here.
