Merge

[edit]

I propose that this article be merged with the main article for Luton as most of the information is duplicated anyway —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fanboy1966 (talkcontribs) 24 June 2007.

I would leave this a bit longer, as its clearly a work in progress and should be given time. The expanded article would be able to cut down items in the main Luton article, and be a daughter page.--172.203.163.204 19:50, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Page

[edit]

Don't remove the page's deletion tag without discussing it here. The whole idea of Wikipedia is collaboration.Rob 12:32, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As per Wikipedia:Proposed_deletion#Contesting a proposed deletion, I stated the reason in the edit summary when I removed the prod tag. The WP:PROD process isn't really about discussion, it's for uncontroversial deletions - hence if there's a discussion to be had, the tag should be removed. To discuss the potential removal of a page the WP:AFD process should be used instead. Paulbrock 22:12, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

I say that this page should redirect to:

The reason being that all of the content is duplicate of the content there, it may not be in the main Luton article, but it does not need to. Information only needs to be mentioned once so this page should never have been created. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RazoreRobin (talkcontribs) 26 June 2007.

I'm not sure of your argument here. There are aspects of this article, such as Culture in Luton#Museums that aren't in the Luton article. I agree, information should not be duplicated, but it isn't! It needs tidying, but may still be appropriate as a separate page, if there's too much info for the Luton page. What we don't want is word-for-word in each article as it makes updating it much harder. A summary in Luton is fine though. Paulbrock 22:20, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The museums all have their own pages which are linked to on the main Luton article. If you don't believe me look here Luton#Local_attractions. Also note that although it looks like there is content not mentioned in the Luton article, they are all just empty headings. If you look in google, you will see that no other town in the world has a culture page so why should Luton.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by RazoreRobin (talkcontribs) 27 June 2007.
Culture of London, Culture of Manchester, Culture of Bristol, and lots more in Category:Culture by city :) Paulbrock 14:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Luton is not a major city or even a major city. But I don't see any reason as to why there couldn't be a Culture in Luton Category to replace this page.Rob 18:39, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, just made a category called: Category:Culture_in_Luton Rob 18:41, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:EH icon.png

[edit]

Image:EH icon.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
