Why is the page culturescapes nominated for deletion? I spent a long time writing the first part of it. I checked the guidelines and did my best to follow them but i am new to wikipedia and it is still a little confusing.

Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... I can provide third party sources and will do so within the next 24-48 hours. I ran out of time today. Please do not delete the article yet. It took me a long time to write it and it is not finished yet. --Morgemonster (talk) 18:21, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... I've now added third party sources to prove the authenticity of the subject. If possible, please remove the deletion tag from the article. --Morgemonster (talk) 11:41, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article may contain improper references to self-published sources. (March 2014)

[edit]

I do not think that that is the case. The literature as mentioned is from a independent an in the german (swiss) speaking world well known Publishing Company. Christoph Merian Verlag has a long Trackrecord in Publications about Basel and Switzerland in general. This publishing company has not a strong connection (money, personell) - between culturescapes and this publishing company except that both are in Basel, To make that assesment knowledge of german is necessery. I therefore take part of the alert away. --RBinSE (talk) 06:12, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Alert: This article may rely excessively on sources too closely associated with the subject,

[edit]

I have tried to verify the alert as stated in the header. The result is this. Out of the total 26 references there are 12 references who are selfpublished by Culturescapes, 2 go through the website of the organization to 3rd party sources (press reports of festivals) 12 references go to third party sources - a short scan of those does not give me the impression that these are sources close to the subject - in fact some are critical towards the subject. I don´t know if there is consensus in the Wikipedia community where the watershed is between "to much references close to the subject" and "not to much references" close to the subject. The wording excessively does not apply in my honest opinion. I will wait for reactions on this analysis for a bit and then depending on the reactions act from there and eventually delete the alert. --RBinSE (talk) 13:07, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
