Engine swap
[edit]With the Munga being gradually replaced by the VW 181 from 1968 on, some private owners who had acquired the vehicles from the VEBEG replaced the original 2-stroke engine with Opel 998 and 1152 cm³ engines as they were readily and cheap available from junkyards and had a number of advantages like having a higher power/torque output while consuming less fuel (in comparison to the original engine) and being common 4-stroke units. --2A02:560:4201:8700:38A9:CA0:262B:4A24 (talk) 18:26, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
