My two cents
[edit]@Aoba47: Once again, you never cease to amaze me. I think "Days in the Sun" is my favourite song from the B&B remake (although it gets quite a lot of flack in comparison to "Evermore"), and as usual you've done wonderfully. Not sure if I'll be taking on this GA review yet – might leave it to someone a little less biased lol – but I'll be happy to offer a few pointers, if you'd like :-):--Changedforbetter (talk) 01:23, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- Is there a reason you haven't credited Alan Menken as a songwriter in both the lead and infobox? As far as I know, he co-wrote the song with Tim Rice (composer to his lyricist) in addition to producing the track as he usually does, but in the lead you've only credited him as an "arranger" – now, maybe he did arrange the song (for which you would actually need a source in the "Background" section somewhere), but arranging rarely warrants a mention in Disney song articles, much less in their opening sentences – I usually say something like "written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Tim Rice"; gets both writing credits out of the way in once breath, and in the correct order (for most Disney projects, Menken almost always comes before Rice). Also, add Menken to "songwriters" in the infobox.
- Thank you for pointing this out. I have revised this. Aoba47 (talk) 02:15, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- "Belle and the Beast's servants" ... hmmmm not so much; they're the Beast's servants, not Belle's. They do "serve" Belle but more-so out of friendship than employment/requirement.
- I have revised this. Not sure how it got there lol. Aoba47 (talk) 02:15, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- Do you think it would be beneficial to briefly mention the roles the actors/recording artists play in the film since they recorded the song in character? Perhaps not every individual servant; something like "It is performed by Adam Mitchell as the Beast, Stanley Tucci, Ewan McGregor, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, Emma Watson, Audra McDonald and Clive Rowe as his enchanted servants, and Emma Watson as Belle." Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you ever indicate that the song is performed by a young Beast; it is somewhat implied by the term "flashback" but that doesn't really clarify that it is performed by a childhood version of the male lead to his dying mother.
- Revised this. I am not sure about the phrasing of "young Beast" as he was not a beast at that point. I will try to find a way to word it better, but I agree that it needs to be made clearer. Aoba47 (talk) 02:15, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- haha I agree, tbh I only used the term "a young Beast" as a placeholder myself... I'll keep thinking, will let you know if something better comes ups.--Changedforbetter (talk) 14:24, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- I will definitely brainstorm a few ideas too! Aoba47 (talk) 15:27, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- "prepubescent and pre-transformation Beast" :D--Coin945 (talk) 12:59, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- I will definitely have to think about it a little more lol. Aoba47 (talk) 16:03, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
I think that's all that really stood out to me...for now ;)
- Thank you for your help as always. I appreciate your help. I really enjoyed this song too! I think it probably got a lot of flack as it is more of a "story" song and cannot really be removed from the context as easily as "Evermore" if that makes any sense. I actually prefer "Days in the Sun" over "Human Again" so I have unpopular opinions all around lol. Aoba47 (talk) 02:15, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- yeah, I think you're right! "Days" doesn't really work as well out of context, but it's sooooo beautiful (I actually wish they had kept the Queen's solo). And I agree, the song is superior to Human Again haha, although I think they both could have worked in the film.--Changedforbetter (talk) 14:24, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with you on all of that. It is a really beautiful song. I am surprised they did not keep the Queen's solo. If they were going to change the actress' hair color anyway, then I would think it make her look different enough to let the original version stay. But, I guess it is good that they listen to the test audience lol. Still a great movie either way, just pointing out nitpicks lol. Aoba47 (talk) 15:27, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
