Expansion of the School[edit]

The school has undergone significant expansion since first being constructed in 1992. I was a student there between 1997 and 2003 and saw the completion of a few projects but am not sure how they fit into the current article (ie whether they are already covered or not) and their actual dates of completion, these are as follows:

  • Erection of stairs at 6th Form end connecting from outside English to Maths/ICT upstairs. (Prior to 2001)
  • Conversion of staff offices on Bridge (near English Block) to Business Studies class for 6th Form (Prior to 2001)
  • Construction of suspended ICT room onto bridge near main entrance (Prior to 2000)
  • Construction of specialist 6th Form Science room (Summer 2001)
  • Conversion of 6th Form common room into 2 new classrooms (accessible from Languages and Humanities areas with central partition allowing it to be one large room) (Summer 2002)
  • Conversion of part of the "street" into 6th Form communal area (Summer 2002)
  • Construction of new building externally near Languages (After Sept 2003)
  • Conversion of Reception into a new reception with waiting chairs and staff room access (2008/9)
  • Construction of new building near science corridor includes: Art Hall, 3 Music Rooms, Drama Studio, Meeting Hall, 3 General Classrooms, Activities Hall and what seems like a million storage rooms (2015)

It is useful to give a high level summary of the net effect - what does the school look like today. Think about what someone the other side of the world would want to read - or what would you want to read about a schol on the other side of the world. Certainly reporting the construction of a stairs would definitely fall foul of WP:Trivia! --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:03, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

School infobox[edit]

Rather than just scattering data randomly, could I suggest that someone who has the data should populate a standard info box. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_School --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 13:39, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have added Template:Infobox UK school as a start point. ~ Scribble Monkey (talk) 14:29, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's a better idea! --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 17:26, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought so too. I have reverted your enrolment number and flag icon changes. It is usual to use an approximate number for students to avoid frequent updates and the flags are quite widespread among UK school infoboxes. I believe both conform to the infobox documentation too. ~ Scribble Monkey (talk) 10:24, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Structural issue in building[edit]

Denbigh School has been listed as one of those affected by the reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) issue.[1] Per policy Wikipedia is not a newspaper, the article can't be updated with "hot news" about the story, please refer to reliable news sources for continuing coverage. When things are back to normal and time provides a proper perspective, some material can be added to describe the effect on the school. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 23:09, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
