Comment[edit]

Hi, can't help but notice the sources state the 10,000hp engines were never completed; can you clarify? Andie

I think the above refers to the East LP Station. I worked as a Lab. Assistant at Deptford Power Station, under the Central Electricity generating Board (CEGB) during 1960-5. At that time a new East (HP) station had been built which, if memory serves, had three 55 MW generating sets. The LP station was no longer in operation. A Mr Stan? Holness was the Station Superintendent and Mr J M Allan was the Station Chemist. Jim Beston Jan 2012

Hi Jim. From memory the text was paraphrased from what is now this and this. This refers to Ferranti's original station. Pterre (talk) 06:14, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Having worked at this Power Staion from 1960-5, If memory serves, this was the EAST (not West) HP having 3 turbines of about 53 MW capacity. J A Beston 26/2/2013
