Paraphyly

[edit]

If Dermocystidium ranae is segregated as Amphibiocystidium ranae then Dermocystidium is paraphyletic - Dermocystidium percae is the outgroup relative to A. ranae and other Dermocystidium species. The name Dermotheca has been proposed for D. percae and any species which are allied to this, but has not (yet) been adopted. (Dermotheca is a moss genus, but as Mesomycetozoea falls under the ICZN, rather than ICBN, this does not preclude it's use here.) Lavateraguy (talk) 17:37, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
