The part about a disaccharide being found in plant cells is new to me. They MAY be found in plant cells, but their origin is definitely not always from there.

I added the bit on less common disaccharides, it is useful to have a list, as the names are not intuitive, it would be good to add references. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.72.81.129 (talk) 01:49, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why does "bioside" redirect here?

[edit]

The word does not appear in the article. What does it mean? 86.136.110.44 (talk) 18:01, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Probably got confused with biose. Actually, after reviewing the history of the redirect, the user who created the redirect was banned for sockpuppetry. Coz7 (talk) 00:36, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disaccharides are also simple sugars

[edit]

Multiple sources mention simple sugars when 1 or 2 sugar units are together, and 3 or more are complex or polysaccharides. [1] [2] [3]

I looked for a couple minutes, but couldn't find references that mention otherwise clearly. A couple of pages do mention that monosaccharides are simple sugar, or that polysaccharides are complex, but none of those explicitly states differences between simple and complex carbs.
