Lineup

[edit]

There seems to be some dispute over the performing lineup on "Don't Look Down on Me". While most seem to believe it to be Danny Weis on guitar and Jerry Penrod on bass, in 2009 an editor changed the article to assert that it has Erik Braunn on guitar and Lee Dorman on bass. Unfortunately, there is as of yet no reference for this assertion. Please post here if you have evidence that the lineup includes Braunn and Dorman. For now, I'm going to edit it to say the song is with Weis/Penrod, for the following reasons: 1.Thus far, we don't even have evidence that Braunn and Dorman were ever in the same lineup as DeLoach(and it clearly is DeLoach playing tamborine and singing on the song), whereas we have Heavy to demonstrate that the Ingle/Weis/Bushy/Penrod/DeLoach lineup actually existed. 2.Someone recently posted on YouTube that Weis is her uncle and that he definitely played on the song. Hardly reliable, but still more evidence than has been provided for the Braunn/Dorman theory.--Martin IIIa (talk) 16:07, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correct - all three quit Butterfly before Braunn ever auditioned for the guitar slot.50.111.1.254 (talk) 10:14, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

reference tag on "b-side" version

Possession - I know it, the editor who contributed knows it, and if it had been properly listed on the sleeve note of the Belgian "Rarities" LP, we'd all know it. I will try to find a review that mentions it. Thanks. 50.111.1.254 (talk) 10:14, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Debut single"?

[edit]

Though presumably recorded in 1967, this song doesn't appear to have been released anywhere until the early '70s - and not in the US until the 2014 Cleopatra Records issue. It is no more Iron Butterfly's "debut single" than Live at the Star Club, Hamburg is The Beatles' debut LP. Cortexo Modesto (talk) 02:47, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
