article status[edit]

This article has been several times redirected--effectively deleted from view in Wikipedia--by one editor, against wishes of at least one other editor (me), and numerous editors have edited in the article, making category refinements and other improvements. The article includes detail about borders and other aspects of the NRHP listing which is not appropriate for the Downtown Stamford article to which it has been redirected. And the Downtown Stamford articles links to here; it clearly should not link back to itself.

I happen to notice this again because the anomaly shows up in a status report about NRHP progress.

Please discuss here or open a proper AFD discussion, anyone who wishes to delete/redirect this, and a community decision to redirect could conceivably be found. I would open an AFD to settle this, but I think that is not appropriate as I do not support deletion/redirection. I suppose an alternative is to open a RFC/U or other administrative process about the disruption to wikipedia of the low-grade edit warring apparently going on here. --doncram 16:30, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing has been deleted, just merged. A unified discussion of the whole neighborhood, including its historic district status is more beneficial than piecemeal articles. Everything you can say about this topic is very appropriate for the slightly larger but largely the same topic it is merged to. --Polaron | Talk 19:34, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for replying, Polaron. I see you redirected the article and I have restored it. I disagree with your view. Could you please go ahead and open an AFD, as the proper means to get community input to delete an article, or could you suggest some other approach to resolve this. --doncram 19:45, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
