Notability[edit]

Duan Zhixing is a major character and one of the Five Greats (五绝), in The Legend of the Condor Heroes and The Return of the Condor Heroes. I'm strongly sure the character on its own satisfies the notability. e.g Tang Sanzang (character) - Xuanzang (real life). Please don't hate Chinese and kindly nominate for deletion if you disagree! If both Ouyang Feng and Huang Yaoshi have their articles I'm sure Yideng needs a separate one too. Originally I moved Duan Zhixing's "in fiction" section here because Jin Yong's portrayal of this character is quite different from his real life namesake, but it seems this article will need some "out of universe" material in addition to the plot. Sorry about the revert but I don't think merging it back is appropriate. Most of the stories about Yideng in Jin Yong's triology never happened to the real Duan Zhixing, and that is why I moved the content here in the first place. It should be a separate article, or alternatively, the relevant section at List of The Legend of the Condor Heroes characters can be expanded. I would recommend creating a user account because if someone else does create a "Burmese pokemon" account you may be seen as impersonating them, and it is unhelpful for other editors who want to reply to you since ping notifications can't be sent to IP users. I agree with Esiymbro that the material on the real-life Duan Zhixing needs to be kept separate fwiw; there is a problem I've noticed in some ancient Korean history pages where fictional and real-life versions of the people are mixed together ahistorically and it's best to avoid potentially replicating that here. —Nizolan ^{(talk · c.)} 12:30, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
