[edit]I'm not sure this is exactly correct. I believe Ducktown was named for a duck pond that was in the area. My family has been there only 110 years, so you'd think I'd know.
As noted in the sites of interest, Ducktown is the home of the best submarine sandwich shop in the world, The White House Sub Shop. (I am sure I can find citations for that fact. Even my wife... from New York City... had to admit it.) Founded in the post-War 1940's, this landmark was patronized by the Rat Pack, the Beatles, every Miss America, and more... just look at the pictures on the walls. Zagat rates the food above a 25 the last time I looked: that's gourmet level. (Zagat also rates the decor below a 10, which is something worse than"ugly". Thus, this place may have the biggest difference between Food and Decor ratings of any restaurant in Zagat!!) I used to deliver newspapers to one of the owners of this shop.
<Appended July 11, 2008> I was watching an old episode of "House". They wake a guy from a coma and all he wants to do is go to Atlantic City to get "the best hoagies in the world" made by a "Giancarlo". Cearly a reference to White House.
Also... Anthony Basile passed away recently. May he rest in peace. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.115.113.144 (talk) 03:47, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
