Much additional information could be accessed readily by reading "Flee the Captor" by Herbert Ford, Nashville TN: Southern Publishing Association, 1966. It is both a biography of Jean Weidner, and an account of the work and activities of Dutch-Paris. In the original edition, 27,000 copies were published in English, 12,000 in Dutch and 10,000 in French. Much of Ford's material was from interview's with Weidner himself, and was corroborated by people he worked with, people his organisation saved, and lastly by Dr Visser t'Hooft, who was at that time general-secretary of the World Council of Churches, and a key supporter of Dutch-Paris. Hello Wikipedians. I have added Flee the Captor to the "sources". However, it is far from a neutral source because it was written as a religious biography rather than a history. Many members of Dutch-Paris complained about it when it was published, stating that the author had deliberately conflated incidents and excluded people such as Elisabeth Cartier from the book. The author responded that he did that because Americans were too "childish" to understand what really happened. Also, he was writing the book for the publishing house of the Seventh-day Adventist church, which was interested in Weidner as an Adventist hero. I have added citations to a more recent book that relied on archival research and is thoroughly footnoted: Megan Koreman, The Escape Line. I have also added more recent books to the sources that touch on aspects of Dutch-Paris, such as the memoirs of Rudy Zeeman, an Engelandvaarder who escaped from Amsterdam to Spain with Dutch-Paris. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DP1944 (talk • contribs) 16:05, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
