Redirection; Notability; COI[edit]

"Earthsharing Australia" is not an incorporated body. In practice it is a branch and trading name of the incorporated body called Prosper Australia, which also trades in its own name. Accordingly I submit that the article on Earthsharing Australia should be redirected to, or otherwise subordinated to, an article on Prosper Australia. No article on Prosper Australia yet exists.

Concerning notability in the Australian context, one could cite the federal land tax of 1910, the various state land taxes (levied on site values alone, excluding buildings), and 90 years of campaigning (including 65 years of mostly successful campaigning) for site-value rating by local governments in Victoria, Australia.

Globally, Prosper Australia is one of the more prominent Georgist organizations. On the noteworthiness of the Georgist movement, see e.g. the articles on Georgism, Land value tax, Henry George, Progress and Poverty, Value capture, Henry George Theorem, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, English League for the Taxation of Land Values, Scottish League for the Taxation of Land Values, Henry George Foundation of Great Britain.

COI: As far as I can recall at this time, my total contribution to the aforesaid articles was a single edit. But I must warn that in view of the strong opinions (both positive and negative) provoked by Georgist policies, anyone who knows enough to write an article about a Georgist organization is almost guaranteed to have a COI one way or the other. Whether such a person manages to write with a neutral POV will be for others to judge. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.219.234.235 (talk) 01:51, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
