DC Technology

[edit]

The article uses the words "The DC voltage will be +/-525 kV". Does this mean two wires, one at +525 kV with respect to earth, one at -525 kV? Or two wires with 525 kV between them, one wire positive and one negative? Reference 1 says, "Rigid bi-pole configuration without metal return and overall outage of +-525kV." "Outage"? Is that a jargon term or is it a misprint?

Can anyone explain in more detail? Emrys2 (talk) 14:32, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
