Church restoration of 1965

[edit]

This article suggests that the church in Escomb was restored by Sir Albert Richardson in 1965. There is also a link to the page dedicated to Sir Albert Richardson. That page suggests that he died in 1964. This makes his restoration of the church in 1965 impossible, unless it took several years and was finished then? End of civil parish

[edit]

"Escomb was a civil parish until 1960, when it and a number of other civil parishes in the area were dissolved.[2]"

A Vision of Britain through Time states that Escomb ceased to be a civil parish in 1937 when it was absorbed (mostly) by Bishop Auckland. The year 1937 is when most of the changes in civil parish structure in this part of Durham occurred.

Your reference [2] is a dead link so there is no way of checking your statement with the original. --Oldontarian (talk) 10:47, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've now tagged that source as deadlink. Surely you mean "our reference [2]"? Perhaps you'd like to swap that source for your new visionofbritain.org one and update the text accordingly? Thanks for spotting this. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:05, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
