Early days

[edit]

Early days yet, this page was only created today, but I have some questions I think need addressing:

  • Exactly what is a "polyhedron" in this context? Some of these modern ideas use the term rather differently than in solid geometry.
  • Exactly what is the relationship between a polyhedron and a polytope? Same comment applies.
  • Why is the theory of extensions, i.e. P + Q, significantly different from the well established theory of polyhedral maps Q?
  • Is the scope of this topic confined to a particular class of figures, for example convex figures or polytopes all of whose sub-faces are simple?

recursive definition

[edit]

The definition in the lead is recursive. It defines some P as including a mapping of something else onto P. This is clearly absurd. Can somebody who knows about the subject correct this? — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 16:12, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
