Various levels of Führerreserve[edit]

The article as it is today describes a high-level pool mainly formed of general officers. There were, however, lower-level units which also were called Führerreserve. As an example, the 257th Infantry Division put up a Führerreserve in 1941 which consisted of about 30 officers, NCOs and a few enlisted ranks under the command of a Major.
