[edit]Does this hospital even pass WP:GNG? Google Searches reveal no significant coverage, of the 9 references, 1 is to a Google Sites page (obvious WP:RSSELF fail), one is a list of trauma centers, one literally mentions the subject in passing once, another is literally the company's own website and one is a review site. In addition, a major contributor appears to have a COI (having removed COI Temps twice). Padgriffin Griffin's Nest 08:36, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

- Put simply, no, it doesn't. It particularly fails "notability is not inherited." I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me if replying off my talk page. Thank you. 08:50, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
Padgriffin Still, there is no reason to negate the effort to educate those who would assume that it was the same exact facility. By creating or rather redirecting the reader to the Cleveland Clinic the page gave the impression that the two were inherently the same, which is not the case. If we are to truncate Fairview to Clinic, then we should do the same Marymount, Hillcrest, and so forth. Fairview is perhaps the most important hospital in Cleveland besides the Clinic and UH (of course). That is not to say that the original post was not entirely factual. The inclusion of the original, while fascinating, would be necessary only if that were in fact connected to the current operations. Therefore the removal of this information is justified. However, I might have a photo of the hospital somewhere so I might contribute that to "legitimatize" its presence. Though the anon poster was probably doing this in good faith, it did smack of advertising and that can be dispense with. That being said, the facility is listed in several locations and references for specializing in these areas. The main problem is that the Clinic has more or less tried to erase the existence of these hospitals one by one. Huron, Lakewood, etc. However, I do see why you take stern umbrage to the GNG. Albeit, Fairview is recognized as a supreme teaching location.
- @Tallonator: The problem with this is that it likely fails WP:ORG- while it exists as a location, it is not notable by itself. Google Searches reveal minimal coverage and all of the sources are quite poor. Besides the RSSELF fail, refs 5 and 7 cannot be considered Significant as they are not about the subject and mention them in passing. Ref 8 is a primary source and ref 9 is review site. Ref 10 is also orphaned. That combined with the article likely being written by a COI editor does not bode well for it's notability as an independent article from its owner. There is no question Fairview is significant and worthy of page status. The wiki community will have to improve the article but it is definitely worthy of attention, apart from the Clinic. As @tallonator mentioned, to "truncate" Fairview to Cleveland Clinic redirect is not warranted as both marymount and hillcrest have their own pages. So, then the question becomes : are we to reduce them to Cleveland Clinic redirect as well? Rjbcle83 (talk) 15:51, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Padgriffin: The above users ended up being sockpuppets. I added the redirect to a couple of Wikiprojects; I doubt being in Wikiprojects will increase exposure, but it can't hurt. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me if replying off my talk page. Thank you. 14:23, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
