Conflicting

[edit]

"Fashion Illustration has been around for nearly 500 years. Ever since clothes have been in existence and there was a need to translate an idea or image into a garment there has been a need for fashion illustration."

So has it been around for 500 years, has it been around as long as clothes have or have clothes only existed for 500 years? (Was there a specific event nearly 500 years ago that sets that date?) RJFJR (talk) 16:26, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ambiguous Language

[edit]

"Fashion illustration shows the presence of hand and is said to be a visual luxury.[1]"

What exactly does it mean to show the "presence of hand"? It's great that this quote has a citation, but it reads like flowery prose rather than an unambiguous fact sought by readers of an encyclopedia. It is "said to be a visual luxury"-- by who? What does it mean that fashion illustration is thought of as a visual luxury?
