Notable Inmates?
[edit]A friend of my family was jailed at Lompoc in the 1960s for refusing to go to Vietnam, and I visited him there. Jim told me stories about his fond memories of Owsley Stanley (Jim was a vegetarian and Owsley eats only meat, so they swapped parts of their meals every evening). I would like to add Owsley to this list, but this would be original research I don't know where to begin to find some confirmation. Does anyone know a way to access records to confirm this?
Jim also told me that many of the convicted Watergate felons wound up there shortly after his own release, and he would hear stories about them from friends who were still incarcerated there. He claimed that John Mitchell was among these. This article: http://articles.latimes.com/1990-07-30/news/mn-759_1_federal-prison-camp
says that H.R. Haldeman (Nixon's White House Chief of Staff) and Herbert W. Kalmbach, (Nixon's lawyer) and some others were Lompoc prisoners, but it gives no more details and no useful sources. It also mentions (financier/crook) Ivan Boesky and football player/drugie Chuck Muncie.
I'm adding Haldeman, Boesky, Kalmback, and Muncie on the strength of this article, but more details and sources should be added.
Finally, I have also read that Timothy Leary was incarcerated in Lompoc, and I don't think there is another Federal facility there but, again, I don't have good sources for this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Asread (talk • contribs) 18:18, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

I have done a quick look on Chi Mak and apparently he has since died in custody. Date of death 31/10/2022. Can someone please update this? I would but have no idea how to make links and the like work. Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8003:E9DB:FB00:BD7F:F917:5133:8F93 (talk) 11:36, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
