Please point
[edit]@Kazamzam: If given ten tokens, please indicate how you'd place them next to (most in need of improvement):
- (1) Rocky Zweig
- (2) Women's pictures
- (3) letters to the editor (which happens to be a reason a certain store gets traffic gets summertime "bachelor"Monday thru Wednesday customers: the takeout counter and its summer-bachelor "specials" are visible from where FJJ is stocked: during the summer, FJJ drops home-front-door delivery of their paper)
- (4) other/please give a clue or two
Thanks in advance. Pi314m (talk) 02:09, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
Clarification
[edit]@Pi314m: The greatest need for improvement in this article is that it says very little about the newspaper itself. It does not include any of the information one sees on other pages of newspapers such as the founder, the first publication date, notable columnists, circulation, who publishes it, etc. (I'm using the New York Times as an example). The article is largely what others have said about the paper, which is not up to the Wikipedia standards of quality. The women's pictures is not really an issue, but I would like to see the COVID-19 section expanded. It is also unclear who Rocky Zweig is or why his first name is italicized. Some of the quotations are also confusing in that they don't make grammatical and clutter the article. These are examples of the grammar and style issues I tagged the article for. I read a little of your talk page - if you feel comfortable writing in Yiddish, would you be interested in translating or rewriting the article? The Yiddish Wikipedia needs all the help it can get.
I suggest this article become a draft, and I would be happy to help you work on it. This is clearly an important community resource and I am sure Haredim and other Orthodox people would enjoy reading a high-quality article about the FJJ. I live in New York and like writing and improving articles about the city - please leave me a message on my talk page and we can discuss further! I wish you an early Shanah Tovah to you and your family Kazamzam (talk) 13:45, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Kazamzam: Thanks. Bli Neder I'll follow up re Mordy Mehlman (publisher) and perhaps (don't want a WP:ADVERT tag) Citicom (his marketing/advertising company). May the coming year be one to be pleased about from the 5783 perspective looking back. Shana Tova to you and yours. P.S. Four Wiki articles mention Neginah Orchestra, so both Rocky and Neginah (still around from Rocky's 1970 co-founding) might be candidates for articles. Of course, not to bite more than can chew, FJJ should come first Pi314m (talk) 14:41, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
