World War II service

[edit]

There are no reliable sources found as of yet state that Birnbaum served in the United States Military. More specifically, the sources do not establish defining role while serving in the American military in World War II. Accordingly, "Category:American military personnel of World War II" was removed from the article. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 16:05, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note: The article "They Asked Right Questions, So Cantor Picked Charlotte", The Charlotte News, September 8, 1973, page 20B, indicates that he was almost drafted by Axis forces while living in Budapest. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 16:12, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
