"See Also: White savior narrative in film"
[edit]Currently, the article links to the White savior narrative in film page, apropos of nothing in the text. This feels like an editorial comment, unsupported by any information in the page itself. Have reputable sources written that the Free State of Jones exemplifies the "White Savior Narrative?" If so, they should be added and referenced, so that the "See Also" section does not reference information not found elsewhere in the article. — Rebeccarosenbloom (talk) 16:46, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
Of course, the story line is "white man organizes and leads other whites and black folk in a rebellion." But the article is thin on making any connection. Well that makes three of us that think it's an unsupported wikipedia editorial. I guess I'll just... remove it. If it turns out that I'm vastly mistaken and that there is some subtle reason why this should be here, someone can always re-add it. Benevolent Prawn (talk) 00:51, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- Follow the link and find the film's listing. "See also" links can be "tangentially related" at minimum, and this topic is more than that, being directly related due to existing commentary. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 14:03, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
Chinese Investors in Hollywood
[edit]The article does not mention that Chinese characters are used for a subtitle of the film's title, nor that Chinese "Executive Producers" are listed in the credits. Should this be neglected? Has the film been shown in China? If so, how much did it make at the box office there? The article portrays the film as a financial loser. Is that fair and accurate? Western?
[edit]The definition of a Western film includes that it takes place in the western part of the US. How is this movie a Western, if it takes place in Mississipppi? Kdammers (talk) 01:43, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
