Merge proposal

[edit]

Definitely! "French Netherlands" is simply not English - it's translationese. --Paularblaster 01:06, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The two should not be merged as currently requested. According to the articles, French Flanders and French Netherlands are not the same thing. French Flanders is only Nord with a small part of Pas de Calais whereas French Netherlands is all of Nord-Pas de Calais. Maybe merging the content with Nord-Pas de Calais would be better since the article deals only with the "French Netherlands" as a proposed new name for Nord-Pas de Calais. — AjaxSmack 04:35, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fine by me to merge to Nord-Pas de Calais rather than to French Flanders - but a separate article for a proposed new name is unsuitable. It would in any case have to be "French Low Countries" in English. --Paularblaster (talk) 09:24, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

French Netherlands is not used at all in France. French Flanders is. (PS. A French man who has just read this article) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.215.132.111 (talk) 05:56, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
