Updating needed

[edit]

This entry needs to be updated with reference to the information documented in CHICAGO WHISPERS: A HISTORY OF LGBT CHICAGO BEFORE STONEWALL by St. Sukie de la Croix. This book contains the most carefully documented information about Friendship and Freedom and Henry Gerber. --Jonathan Ned Katz — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jnkatz1 (talkcontribs) 16:43, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Change "degenerate" to more neutral language

[edit]

See this sentence: "In the 1920s, the United States was less degenerate compared to contemporary Germany, where many gay rights organization flourished during this period."

"Degenerate" is absolutely not a neutral way of describing the flourishing of gay rights organizations. This should be changed to something like "In the 1920s, few gay rights organizations flourished in the United States compared to contemporary Germany." Communicates the same information in more neutral language. 24.217.35.86 (talk) 19:54, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
