I'm the executive director of Funeral Consumers Alliance, the subject of this entry. I did not create this entry. I did, however, delete a portion of text that misleadingly led readers to believe that a for-profit company called "Funeral Planners, Inc." had a relationship with Funeral Consumers Alliance. There is no such relationship, and Funeral Consumers Alliance is a legitimate nonprofit charity, while Funeral Planners, Inc., appears to be a for-profit company. I was alarmed to learn about this misleading text from a magazine editor who alerted me. Here is the text I deleted:

"Because Funeral Consumers Alliance as a non-profit entity could not possibly have the resources required to personally work with each and every individual that would require assistance in funeral planning, the unaffiliated for profit consumer advocacy service created in the spirit of Funeral Consumers Alliance, Funeral Planners Inc., was created to fill this need."

Please note I'm not engaging in any conflict of interest; I've written nothing to promote the organization I work for. I have only removed misleading information that does not belong under the entry for Funeral Consumers Alliance.
