Who put the Sin in Gabal Sin Bishar?
[edit]Various 19th century explorers (quoted in M. Har-El's book "Sinai Journeys") refer to that author's proposed candidate for the biblical Mount Sinai as "Jebel Bisher" or other names like "Tasit Sudr", "Tasit Bisher", etc. But I have not found any source prior to Har-El that includes "Sin" in the name. Har-El goes to some length to explain how both "Sin" and "Bisher" have Arabic roots that strengthen his argument, but I'd like to know who, before Har-El, called it by this double-barreled name. Can someone enlighten me? 2A10:8012:11:7975:7098:C90D:52E0:BAF4 (talk) 20:02, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
