What is the evidence/source that the seawall has been "completely overtopped"? I've heard one report of 4 feet of water in downtown. The wall is much higher than that. And the hurricane has not yet "come ashore". It is still an hour or two offshore. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball.StreamingRadioGuide (talk) 03:45, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
cost & grading project
[edit]No mention of the cost of building the seawall? I think it's an important aspect that would be enlightening. Also, we should probably also mention the fact that galveston was raised and leveled significantly in relation to this project. Does anybody have good references? I don't know much about this, which is why I'm here. Centerone (talk) 15:32, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
