I'm pretty sure that the sentence "DJ Lyfe isn't as good as DJ Kilmore" falls under NPOV. In fact... waaait... I'm positive.

Current work.

found here. i don't know how to add to the article or i would. The5ohsink (talk) 21:01, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dude

[edit]

Well I think it's safe to say that since I've taken this article under my wing, I've spruced it up with citations, a photo, history... stuff like that. And I don't think it's a stub anymore, so I hope it's ok if i removed the stub template.Iminrainbows (talk) 02:54, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

A question and a comment:

1. In what way is http://www.spiritus-temporis.com/ a reliable source?

2. Urban Dictionary is not a reliable source for a music biography. It's a user-edited collection of slang terms. (Sugar Bear (talk) 10:35, 5 December 2009 (UTC))[reply]

The DJ Lyfe page was created almost 2 decades ago, and many sources were depreciated. Those items were deleted. The page also contained conjecture and misinformation regarding this legendary artist. In an effort to maintain the valuable information on this page and keep things current, there have been corrections made and new, relevant information added. Editor 'Broc" has attempted to maintain this misinformation, and when those lies were deleted, "Broc" replaced them. When "Broc" was challenged with no cited sources, he is now attempting to deleted this important page. "Broc" is possibly a current member of Incubus who wants to vandalize this page for personal reasons. LyonCruz (talk) 05:03, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's a whitewash of history. You did it at the band article, where I restored properly cited information about the threats, violence and restraining orders. I didn't revert you here because this page will soon be deleted, so it doesn't matter. Binksternet (talk) 06:06, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is no "whitewash' of anything, on either page. The conjecture on the incubus page is biased against koppel, and is absolute slander. Over the years there have been many people who have attempted to attack and degrade Koppel, including the band members, and that is retaliation for Koppel suing incubus for royalties. LyonCruz (talk) 02:16, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please explain to me and to the wikipedia community why you wish to delete this page? Where is the violation of guidelines? Where is the problem with this page which has been here almost 2 decades? It seems as though you in favor of deleting this page out of spite and a personal dislike of Koppel. Please explain.... LyonCruz (talk) 02:31, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@LyonCruz don't throw allegations around if you don't have material to support them. I am merely evaluating the notability of the subject following the notability guidelines. The community — not me — will decide, based on consensus, whether the page should remain on Wikipedia or be deleted. Broc (talk) 06:45, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The page has been restored with current links and solid information regarding this person. The mere facts that we are having the conversation regarding this person, his recent releases as well as the tribulations over the year, serves as evidence that this page is most certainly relevant and people are very interested in this living artist. LyonCruz (talk) 02:12, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have asserted no false allegations. Please reread "Broc is possibly a current member of incubus." That is clearly a plausible theory, given the fact that Broc (you) made no attempt to delete the page when there was derogatory statements regarding Koppel, but as soon as said statements were corrected with factual information, you suddenly are attempting to delete the page. Your reason for deleting the page is now moot, because all of the cited sources regarding Koppel have been updated, and information regarding his new works have been added, including a link to "Discogs" which is a very well respected site for DJs and producers who sell their own records and tapes. If you still wish to delete the page, it will only serve as vandalism of this page, to degrade the legacy of Koppel (an original member who has sold millions of copies with Incubus), and a new page will certainly be created for Koppel. The only false allegations are the ones you attempted to keep on this page, to defame Koppel. There were allegations that Koppel had lost a lawsuit and that he threatened Kilmore as a result of losing a lawsuit. No sources whatsoever were cited for this statements, and they mock the sentiments of the Incubus band members towards Koppel over the years. In fact the lawsuit from Koppel was in 2003, the issue with Kilmore was over 7 years later in 2010, and there were no reports, not even from Kilmore himself, to the affect of what was previously posted on this page. LyonCruz (talk) 02:29, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It looks to me as if Koppel definitely meets the notability guidelines from Wikipedia. Any artist who has received RIAA certified gold status with a band, and continued creating music independently for the following 25 years, meets the guidelines. If he wasn’t relevant, the page wouldn’t have been created and it would have been deleted years aho 24.205.63.99 (talk) 02:46, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Notability guidelines have been met above and beyond the guidelines set forth by Wikipedia. Please see the recent revisions for recent, independent, and relevant news articles and recording releases (2024) by Koppel as DJ Lyfe. LyonCruz (talk) 20:44, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
