Structure

[edit]

Since this page hasn't been edited for so long, I didn't think I would step on anyone's toes by re-formatting the page and altering its structure a little. I've added sections for family, career, and the signif of his biography of Wolsey. Chenoeh (talk) 23:22, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Don't copy the Britannica that carefully. "NAME" Singer??? Samuel Singer seems suggested by a bit of searching, Samuel Weller Singer, a 19th-century Shakespeare editor. But I'm not sure. It's possible, but unless and until sure, best to leave such a garbled sentence wholly out. It's already copied by all the Wikipedia-clones around the world. Typical. I mean, yes, there are places where someone named "Name Singer" would exist, but Name would be lowercase... Schissel | Sound the Note! 19:50, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree it must be Samuel Weller Singer. He produced the "first complete edition" of Cavendish's Life of Wolsey (2 vols., 1825–7), according to the ODNB. --HJMG 12:32, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
