Does anyone have any information on what it what he did in his later years?

I was reading on him going "to London, in order to prepare for Mozambique, where he had been appointed consul." yet when I looked at the government of Mozambique, I couldn't find any history of a consul every being used, but rather governors. Perhaps this could be a misnaming of his role or perhaps where he was to be consul at? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Ofkearney (talk) 22:24, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
