Why you crying? by George Lopez tells the struggles of the comedian/actor's rough childhood to the top of the world.

In the novel he tells about his father abandoning him when he was 2-months old, and how his mother left him for another family at only 10 years old.

He also mentions living with his grandmother Benita Guiterrez, who is the inspiration for his TV Show mother Benny Lopez. The novel tells about how he faced problems because of his dark skin, his race, and loneliness.

This novel is about his life his struggles and family with his mother and father leaving him.
