Need to add Virgil Sydenstriker, Raymond Alquist, Jesse Steinfeld Surgeon General of U.S., and other significant names. GetAgrippa (talk) 20:14, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Style of Writing

Currently, this article is written like an advertisement and does not represent a neutral point of view. In addition, it does not contain any citations and only links to the various schools within the college. This was further complicated by the edits of Cderiso. Prior to these edits, this article did have problems, but the recent edits have furthered the advertisement-like writing. The article prior to the edits of Cderiso may be a better starting point for future improvement of this article. I shall assume good faith and give some time for discussion should any come up, but will otherwise revert the recent edits in question. GoDawgs1 (talk) 21:00, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Proposed changes I would like to make

I would like to go in and make some of the necessary updates, (including changing the tone to be less like an advertisement). Just for the sake of full disclosure, I am an employee of Georgia Health Sciences University but I have read the terms of service and the conflict of interest policy. I think I can update the info while remaining within the parameters. I already have access to the updated info and think it would be beneficial for readers.

Info I would like to update:

  1. Number of students
  2. Number of Faculty and staff
  3. History Section
  4. Academics Section

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. --Csherman-ghsu (talk) 14:25, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

You are free to make any updates you wish, as long as they are referenced, verifiable, and do not include any original research. -Jhortman (talk) 23:30, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Facts/Figures - source update?

It's been brought to my attention that enrollment, staff/faculty figures, and a couple of others are listed on the GRU web site at this address: http://gru.edu/facts.php

It's not IRIS statistics, though, which won't be available for some time considering this is a newly-established institution.

Should we cite this page and update the info box as appropriate, or leave it alone until the IRIS figures come out? GRUcrule (talk) 17:26, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

We could do that, although it may be easier to consolidate information(ASU+GHSU) published by the University System of Georgia. The 2012 data was released a while back. What do you think?

DMB112 (talk) 17:56, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

I haven't run across that data so far. What if we updated the info box with the information on the GRU site, and it was edited once the official IRIS figures are released (hopefully sometime this summer) and posted? GRUcrule (talk) 19:34, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
I've updated the faculty and enrollment numbers for undergrad. The math adds up if we leave the postdoctorate degree numbers alone (which are not specified on the gru.edu/facts page) GRUcrule (talk) 18:33, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

I'd just like to note...

...that I've been quite upfront and clear about my association with this University from the get-go. I notice there's a note about me/my account at the top, which is fine - I mean, it's accurate, I work here. I've also done nothing but try to add factual information to this article and give it some depth.

I do think the ASU page SHOULD be included in the GRU history, since the new university stemmed from the consolidation of GHSU and ASU into one. Just my two cents. For those wondering, I'm the Social Media Coordinator at GRU, so take that as you will.

Thanks for everyone continuing to make this better! GRUcrule (talk) 16:18, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for being upfront about your association with the University, GRUcrule. Naturally, as you understand, it subjects your edits to closer scrutiny, but as long as they're in line with Wikipedia's policies, it's all good. Jhortman (talk) 16:34, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
No worries! I ran my first foray into Wikipedia through DMB112. Glad to know somebody's seen my notes and is happy to check up on me. Thanks! GRUcrule (talk) 16:19, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

New additions to the page (incoming)

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up, I'm currently working on expanding the 'academics' section of this page with more detailed information on each of the nine college and schools. Of course, nothing that can't be properly cited will be added, and I of course expect anything/everything I do with this page and any related ones to be monitored.

Thanks! GRUcrule (talk) 18:55, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
