Introductory line[edit]

I thought the first line of the article read a bit strangely, particularly in its use of the term "bourgeois-nationalist" to describe the party. I saw that its source listed is Vladimir Lenin's A Contribution to the History of the National Programme in Austria and in Russia, although it seems to go a fair bit further than using this as a source. The introductory line reads:

The Georgian Socialist-Federalist Revolutionary Party was a bourgeois-nationalist party in Georgia, founded in April 1904. The party demanded national autonomy for Georgia within the framework of the Russian bourgeois-landlord state.

To contrast, Lenin's footnote that this was taken from reads as such:

"Georgian Socialists-Federalists—a bourgeois-nationalist party founded in April 1904. Demanded national autonomy for Georgia within the framework of the Russian bourgeois-landlord state."

This is an almost exact copy of Lenin's words, which obviously calls into question whether this line is written from neutral point of view, not to mention whether Lenin's description can be called reliable.

Does anyone else have thoughts on this? I've re-written the line to something more neutral, based on information from a Russian-language source, but I'm happy to discuss further how the opening line should be written. --Grnrchst (talk) 21:25, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
