Name
[edit]I'm a bit puzzled about the cleanup tag. WP:NCGN says:
- "When a widely accepted English name, in a modern context, exists for a place, we should use it. ... If neither of these English names exist, the modern official name, in articles dealing with the present, or the modern local historical name, in articles dealing with a specific period, should be used."
I'm not aware of there being any English name for this street, and Google indicates that, say, "Justice Alley" is not widely used for it. As far as I can tell, the modern official name, Gerechtigkeitsgasse, is the policy-compliant title for this article. Sandstein 20:47, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Additionally, if you are concerned with users not finding this information fast enough, you could create redirects to this article from Justice Alley, or Justice Alley (Berne), or from some other title. Sandstein 20:55, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- My concern is that no one will find this information. With this title it is hiden from would-be users. At least give the city in the aticle's title and a link from the Bern page. I spent many happy days (even if a bit chilly) in Bern.--Wloveral (talk) 21:00, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Update. The page Große Freiheit has just appeared. Wir sind übergelaufen. Und verloren.--Wloveral (talk) 22:10, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

- No, Gerechtigkeitsgasse (Berne) is not appropriate as the main title unless there are several Gerechtigkeitsgassen that need disambiguation. As I said, you can go ahead and create redirects from the titles that you think people will be looking for. The article is also linked from Berne, through Template:Old City of Berne. But I do think that our readers understand that not everything on the planet has a name in English, and that they'll need to search with the local name. Sandstein 22:33, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Klötzlikeller
[edit]I believe the Klötzlikeller is mostly a wine cellar. It has been for generations traditionally managed (owned?) by a woman. Jim Lacey (talk) 20:57, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
