[edit]

The article needs to tell what the people who speak these languages are called. Gringo300 5 July 2005 04:03 (UTC)

The people who speak Gilaki are called Gilak, and those who speak Mazandarani are called Mazandarani. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.151.71.19 (talk) 20:51, 1 March 2006

Why is there a need for this article given that the two languages already have their own articles? DAF 00:05, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Usage on and off Wikipedia

[edit]

The phrase Gilaki and Mazandarani is sometimes used to refer to a group comprising both peoples. See for example: John A. Shoup III (2011). Ethnic Groups of Africa and the Middle East: An Encyclopedia. ABC-CLIO. p. 108. ISBN 978-1-59884-363-7.

There is currently no article on Wikipedia treating this larger grouping, though the phrase may be used in other articles. Therefore, a disambiguation page is warranted. See past discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gilaki and Mazandarani. Cnilep (talk) 04:09, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
