No mention of protests?

[edit]

I know this is a very small article which has largely been maintained by very few people, but I'm surprised that there is no mention of the protests in 2004 in response to this movie. Here are some links for anyone who is interested: https://www.telegraphindia.com/india/sena-boys-can-t-stand-girlfriend-film-yanked-off-mumbai-screens-after-rampage/cid/737387 https://www.indiatoday.in/magazine/society-the-arts/films/story/20040628-rss-lesbian-gay-groups-protest-against-karan-razdan-movie-girlfriend-789786-2004-06-28 Cool12y (talk) 01:58, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The plot synopsis in this article began as a copy of [1] and remains an unusable unauthorized derivative work of that source. For an example of close paraphrasing, consider the following:

Sapna finds herself in a relationship with Rahul and by the time Tanya is back, Sapna has already fallen for Rahul and starts loving him. [...] her hidden agenda and desires come to light in the later part of the film.

The article says:

Sapna finds that she has started to develop a relationship with Rahul. By the time Tanya comes back, Sapna has already fallen in love with Rahul. [...] Her hidden past comes to light in the later part of the film

There are other passages that similarly follow too closely.

While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation - including both structure and language - are. So that it will not constitute a derivative work, this plot synopsis should be rewritten from scratch. The essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing contains some suggestions for rewriting that may help avoid these issues. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches, while about plagiarism rather than copyright concerns, also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism".

Alternatively, if the material can be verified to be public domain or permission is provided, we can use the original text with proper attribution.

I have tried my ultimate best to rewrite the synopsis, but still I am not able to write the whole by myself. So any help will be appreciated. Managerarc (talk) 11:43, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have rewritten the plot summary in a way that doesn't violate copyright. Please take a look. I hope this helps. :) Regards, Theleftorium 12:18, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's awesome, thanks a million for your efforts. Managerarc (talk) 14:56, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Just keep in mind that it is always better to simply write the text from scratch using your own words instead of copying and altering the sentences. :) Theleftorium 15:32, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
