Neutral Article or Public Relations Piece?[edit]

This article really reads like it was written by a marketing firm.

It sources the org's own website for a description of itself. If no RS can corroborate that it is a 'leading' organization, maybe its not as big as it makes itself out to be?

The page says it is the "world's largest membership alliance dedicated to advancing policies and programs that improve health around the world" based on an obscure book that can't be confirmed through Google Books, and the book has no reviews on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Global-Health-Leadership-Management-William/dp/0787971537 and a measly 249 results on Google.

"The Global Health Council, an international membership alliance of public health professionals in more than 100 countries" - from WaPo article used as source for following sentence: The Council serves and represents thousands of public health professionals from over 150 countries across the globe. The other source for the claim is their website.

They work "to improve health globally through increased investment, robust policies and the power of the collective voice." - source: their website.

According to their website the Council "convenes stakeholders around key global health priorities and actively engages key decision makers to influence health policy."[1] Another sourcing of their website for big claims of their importance. Why are they the only ones who seem to think they are so important.

Oh and this is all just from the very first paragraph.

I move for this page to be drastically edited or deleted.

nearly the entire article was written by 2 accounts who apparently only joined Wikipedia to write the majority of this article. i find this highly suspicious and, given the PR nature of this article, i move for deletion. Mbsyl (talk) 06:34, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
