Gloria SimmonsGloria Fisher — The article should be moved back to the character's common name. — Rocksey (talk) 20:05, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article Title

[edit]

This article should be titled Gloria Fisher Bardwell or Gloria Bardwell. She hasn't went by the name "Gloria Fisher" or "Gloria Abbott" in the past years, "Bardwell" is her common and surname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.95.93.71 (talk) 08:31, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for commenting so late. I hope more people join a discussion about what this character's common name is. Per WP:COMMONAMES "when choosing a name for a page, as a rule of thumb ask yourself: What word would the average user of Wikipedia put into the search engine?" For me, the first name for this character that came to mind was Gloria Fisher. But what does everybody else think? Rocksey (talk) 08:58, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
She has been a Bardwell since early 2007, so she probably should be a Gloria Bardwell. Dmarex (talk) 09:38, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Here's my problem with these arguments, you guys are using the fiction and the fictional timeline. According to WP:TENSE the fiction is supposed to "exist in a kind of perpetual present tense, regardless of when the fictional action is supposed to take place relative to "now.""
I'm not against changing the article back to Gloria Bardwell. I just want to make sure it's her common name, the one she's most notably known by outside of the fiction. For example, if the story had the character completely separated from Jeffrey Bardwell and married another man, would she still be most notably known as Gloria Bardwell despite this, the same way Nikki Newman is known as Nikki Newman no matter who she's married to? Well in that case, this article would be titled "Gloria Fisher Abbott"...but regardless her common name is Bardwell just like Nikki Newman keeps "Newman". She isn't Nikki Reed or Nikki Bancroft...she was married to Victor for most notably. Gloria has been married to the Bardwell brothers most notable since John Abbott. The show has referred to her as Gloria Bardwell theirfore the article should be "Gloria Bardwell" or "Gloria Fisher Bardwell" seeing as how we'll deal with future references when we come that bridge!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by TimothyBanks (talkcontribs) 02:52, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
