I am a person who takes a dopaminergic medication and an anti epileptic which is specifically gabapentin.

Sorry I can't pull it up but in the article one section and one paragraph refer to the haves of the brain coming to agreement through the action of the hypothalamus.

My understanding of gabapentin is that as an anti epileptic it comes fairly close to simulating hemispherectomy in that it's down regulates nervous signal transmission to the bridge between the hemispheres known as the corpus callosum.

I'm also a trauma survivor.

In trauma and in trauma recovery we find that the information stored in the haves of the brain does not agree at all resulting in perseveration in many cases.

My understanding is that the gabapentin I am prescribed helps me take a break during the night too slowly enter a deep stage of sleep during which my corpus callosum can mediate the difference in information stored in the two halves of my brain resulting in improved mood and quality of life on rising unfortunately it doesn't last all day..

I realize I'm sharing something fairly personal here and that this is half structured medicine and half something that is only true for me.

Much of the page seems to be about the use of the dopamine hypothesis in terms of medication interventions. Where is the info about the glutamate hypothesis?

Well, read the Bita Moghaddams' synopsis of the hypothesis from the links section and then improvise on it a trifle bit, if you want, and add the info into Wiki. Cheers, CopperKettle (talk) 08:09, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bad formatting at bottom of page[edit]

Hey - not an experienced editor so I can't figure out how to fix it, but it looks like every section after "Current state of schizophrenia treatment" is being included in the table from that section. Could someone else address this? 155.33.134.29 (talk) 03:24, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
